On Satruday, July 12th, S.O.B.'s presents Samba Soul, celebrating the LAMC by adding a twist of Baile Funk to the night. Baile Funk, also known as Funk Carioca ("Funk from Rio" in Brazilian Portuguese), is an energetic style of dance music from Rio de Janeiro, derived from and superficially similar to Miami Bass, with deep rapid beats and aggressive vocals. Although baile funk originated from Rio, it is popular amongst young people throughout all of Brazil and has grown into a driving force in contemporary Brazilian youth culture.

On July 12th, S.O.B.'s offers a night of Brazilian fusion music, beginning with traditional live samba and pagode and then turning the night over to NYC Baile Funk ambassadors, DJs Sujinho and Cassiano, who bring their base-heavy, booty-thumping sound to S.O.B.'s with live baile funk MC Zuzuka Poderosa. Cassiano and Sujinho drop their eclectic mix of favela-influenced dance records, while Zuzuka Poderosa brings to the stage Brazilian bred, Brooklyn based swagger like no other. A stylistic blend of Funk Carioca and NYC rumble add a breath of fresh air to today’s international music scene. She’s hard to miss with her unapologetic sultry Portuguese lyrics.
