Samba Soul is a world music party that begins in Brazil and takes you on a musical journey around the globe every week! It begins with NYC's top live Brazilian bands, playing samba, forro, and axé with a little New York urban twist and then, after midnight, our DJs take the wheels, spinning Samba, Baile Funk, Afro-beat, Reggae, Hip Hop and classic soul and Dancehall hits. Plus our kitchen stays open late, so when you get tired from dancing and you will be dancing sit down and grab a bite off our Brazilian fusion menu, before heading back out onto the floor!!!
Beautiful, classy people, friendly staff and infectious Brazilian grooves; that's what make up Samba Soul at S.O.B.'s.
After Midnight:
Heavily spiked with guaraná, Brazilbeat Sound System is a rising talent on the cutting edge of roots and dance music. Internationally renowned Brazilian percussionist Nego Beto and DJ Mara created the project in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2000, and it is now based in New Zealand. The electronic live-act is promoting the new album "Nova," a mashup of Afro-Brazilian rhythms afoxé, ijexá, samba/batucada, baião with house, breaks, electro and baile funk. Nego Beto's hard-case MC style and riveting performances on percussion and drum machines send audiences to delerium, while DJ Mara infuses captivating Brazilian melodies with thunderous basslines. .
