5 YEARS OF DRIVEN AM

RANDOM MOVEMENT
(Innerground | Creative Source | Driven AM / Orlando)
07/02 +5 YEARS OF DRIVEN AM+ BROOKLYN, NY Random_movement
“Not old music, not new music, just good music”, is the Random Movement DJ’ing motto. This ideology has carried his career to multiple performances at major club’s and festivals across 4 continents. Ever since climbing onto the soulful drum and bass vibe 9 years ago, his production skills and DJ technique have pushed him to the forefront of state-side drum & bass. Drum n bass music lovers - both old and young, pack the clubs to hear his particular deep and uplifting vibe as he takes the crowd to big grins and smiles all around. With help from friend and fellow producer/DJ Marky, the epic Bassbin smasher “Stars in the Dark” hit in 2005 and flew up the charts, helping to put Random Movement firmly on the map. Since then the releases and collaborations have been pouring forth, with projects including Mixmaster Doc, S.P.Y and Redeyes to name a few. His tracks have turned many heads to his unique skills in both his songwriting and production, and his soulful, smooth and sleazy vibes have landed him releases on such labels as Innerground, Liquid V, CIA and Integral. Be sure to keep an ear to the ground for his already lengthy list of remixes & singles forth coming.

SINISTARR
(Metalheadz | Hospital | Creative Source | Peer Pressure | Driven AM / Detroit)
07/02 +5 YEARS OF DRIVEN AM+ BROOKLYN, NY Sinistarr5
Causing much commotion and change over the last few years has been Detroit, Michigan’s own Sinistarr. Combining the native sounds of Detroit techno, electro and house into his own stew, Sinistarr gained the attention from tastemakers like Fabio early on, who had Sinistarr’s “Leeroy Jenkins” pegged early for the mighty Creative Source. While that didn’t pan out (“Leeroy Jenkins” later ended up on Influence), this did not slow his roll down one bit. Aside from the “Leeroy Jenkins” 12”, he also signed a 12” to Nu Directions (“Anorak” / “Nubienne”), released an EP (“Something’s Working” on Blu Saphir Digital) and dropped a tune called “Recovery” on Deep Soul Music’s Future Without A Past CD compilation. Horizons Music has picked up on his “Lynx Is Playing At My House” lick (with whom he’s recently inked a nice deal with), not to mention a 12” for Creative Source in the future. Aside from the production side of things, he’s also a solid DJ, spinning mixes for a number of podcasts (BBS Bookings, Sonorous Music, etc.) and club dates, and spend time as an A&R for San Diego’s Peer Pressure Recordings, helping get quality producers the world over some much-needed shine. Towards the end of 2009, Sinistarr signed to Hospital Records, and in 2010 Sinistarr signed to the legendary Metalheadz!

DAVE OWEN
(Creative Source | Peer Pressure | Luv Disaster | Driven AM / Indianapolis)
07/02 +5 YEARS OF DRIVEN AM+ BROOKLYN, NY DaveOwen
With regular support from LTJ Bukem, Fabio, Bailey, Grooverider and countless others, Dave Owen has become one of the freshest and most exciting new stars in Drum-n-Bass. Dave’s signature style blends hip-hop and old soul samples with crisp drums and heavy bass, to create a sound that is distinct and for the dancefloor. His unique sound has led to releases on Influence Records, Think Deep Recordings, Rubik Digital, Peer Pressure Recordings, Luv Disaster, and his massive forthcoming Creative Source release ‘'Yo Girl” out in June. The next few months are going to be huge for Dave; a US tour with coast to coast bookings from San Fransisco to NYC, his tune ‘Loose Lips' has been remixed by Heist, he is collaborating with Random Movement, Bailey, Flaco, Calculon, Command strange, Dave Shichman and has a new side project with Grimm. Watch for much more to come from this musical savant.

MIXMASTER DOC
(Innerground | Creative Source | Peer Pressure | Driven AM / South Carolina)
07/02 +5 YEARS OF DRIVEN AM+ BROOKLYN, NY Mixmasterdoc
With his first signing to Doc Scott’s legendary 31 Records, Dan Brady AKA Mixmaster Doc, burst onto the drum & bass scene seemingly overnight. Humbled by the support of a whos who list of A-list DJ’s such as Fabio, Marky, NuTone, Lynx, Commix, Grooverider, LTJ Bukem, Asides & Goldie to name but a few, he became focused on producing the old school sound that originally drew him in at age 13. Born and raised in NJ, Doc spent most of his youth a slave to DJ culture, buying tapepacks, digging in the crates, and of course spending hours a day behind the decks. Even before he was able to drive, his grandmother made sure he never missed a beat, taking him to all the area records stores and at times even driving him to raves so he could play his first gigs. Though Dan’s original career was to be in medicine, hence the name “Doc”, he couldn’t shake his overwhelming passion for drum & bass. His move to Myrtle Beach, SC, where he currently resides, marks the pivotal moment where he gave up medicine and instead began to develop his trademark sound. Known for his cinematic atmospheres, use of classic drum and bass breaks, and of course his earth shattering bass, Doc’s music quickly became popular with both djs and ravers a like. One cant help but hear Doc’s influences in music. Whether its the sub pounding bristol basslines or the eerie scifi vibe that was such a part of the legendary blue note sound, Doc’s music takes us back to a time when the music was alive and fresh. When the music was more then just music, when it was a way of life. Mixmaster Doc’s 2010 ended with a few major releases, including his 3 collaborations on Random Movement’s new album Rattled System and his Makyo EP on Peer Pressure records. Upcoming releases include a EP on Driven AM Recordings and others. January 2011 tour in the works with dates from west to east coast. Hitting the road latter this year with his electronic band “Science Factory. Latest support from Bassnecter, Chrissy Chris, Loxy, Random Movement and many others. Mixmaster Doc can be heard live each week on his BassDrive show ‘The Doctrine’ Wednesdays 8-10 EST.
