About the DJs:

DEETRON

Over recent years, Sam Geiser aka Deetron has emerged as a rising star in the Techno world. His popularity as a Producer has flourished in tandem with his reputation as a dynamic three-deck DJ, and as the latter discipline propelled him across the globe, his work for a growing roster of record labels further cemented his position as a genuine talent within the International scene. His list of musical achievements stretch back to the early nineties – and on paper it makes for quite an impressive body of work.
Born in Bern, Switzerland, Music was a constant in the Geiser family home. Sam’s father’s activities as a jazz musician ensured that he was surrounded by music from a very early age, sewing the seeds of his own musical interests. But it was Hip-Hop that encouraged this to flourish into an active involvement in music, during his teens. Sam soaked-up the music of Gangstarr, A Tribe Called Quest, and Prince Paul like a sponge, and was quick to realise the role of the turntable within this context, taking up DJing in 1992.
Early Hip-House producers, such as Todd Terry, also captured his attention, and Sam began to make the transition to more 4/4 orientated sounds – picking up on the now classic output of Chicago and Detroit-based electronic musicians and introducing this into the sets he was, by now, playing around his home town, and further afield in Switzerland. Over the years he has honed his skills and become one of the most in-demand techno producers in the world. He is know for his warm style with Detroit soul and has delivered this to his fans at every gig.

GORGE (NYC DEBUT)

Gorge aka Pit Waldmann finds his deepest roots and home base in the German metropolitan Mannheim where the legendary techno festival “Time Warp” and one of Germany’s leading clubs, the “Loft” are based. These surrounding venues are maybe one of the reasons why the musical passion of Gorge leads to the foundation of the first label imprint called “Amused Records” back in 2004 where his partners Nick Curly and Wolfgang Wahl are also actively involved. A very short period of time later a second platform named “Amused8Bit” with releases of the likes Johnny D, Ray Okpara and SIS already follows. In 2007 the stylistic tendencies of the two labels become more and more different so that “8 Bit Records” gets a relaunch and new artists like Gruber & Nürnberg, Dubshape, Ali Kuru and also highly profiled projects like Peace Division and Audiofly enter the roster. Since 2008 Nick Curly and Gorge run the label “8 Bit Records” in cooperation together and its sound becomes more and more trendsetting in terms of high quality “Deep House” and “Tech House”. Some magazines are even talking about the distinctive “Sound of Mannheim” and many influential print medias like Groove Magazine, Raveline and De:Bug release extended features about this sound. With a fine mixture of shuffling groove programming and deep tech house elements Gorge supports Nick Curly’s worldwide success. However since summer of 2008 he also finds enough time to produce records under his own moniker and high profiled record labels as Dennis Ferrer’s “Objektivity”, “Systematic Recordings”, “Plastic City” and “Freerange” start to sign his music and worldwide best known jocks like Luciano, Steve Bug, Loco Dice and Dennis Ferrer frequently spin his black plastic!

STADENCO

Stadenco started his DJ career informally at the age of 2, carrying his little red record player around to play music for anyone who would listen. From there, he explored the worlds of piano, guitar and bass, taking lessons and generally being a nuisance to his instructors. He continued his music education at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, with a focus on music production and engineering. Stadenco got bitten by the house bug when he was dragged to the now-defunct club Vinyl in NYC in early 2001. Already DJing non-edm music, he gradually transitioned to playing the quirky, dirty house and techno that he is known for today. Stadenco has shared the decks with the likes of Craig Richards, Loco Dice, Gui Boratto, Ida Engberg, Matthias Tanzmann, Tom Middleton, Stacey Pullen, Damian Lazarus, John Tejada, and Kevin Saunderson. Over the last few years, he and Danny Howells have played together regularly in New York and elsewhere. He plays consistently at many of New York’s top parties and venues, and will be seen soon in a town near you.

MICHAEL VIEIRA (resident)

New York native Michael Vieira has been influenced by music for as long as he can remember. Exposed at an early age, he first picked up DJing from his father who granted him full access to his own turntables and vinyl collection. Since then the art form has become a therapeutic method of self expression he has finely tuned throughout the years..
Specializing in his own blend of tech house, one can find hints of deep, soul, funk and latin rhythms in his sets. A true music lover at heart, he is looking forward to the year ahead, confident it will bring his sound to new audiences. Creating a vibe is what he considers most important and what he strives to revive and spread as best as he can.
This past year Michael launched his latest project titled Greater>Than. This new concept debuted at Cielo, NYC and has plans to bring in some the best new and underground talent there is. As resident of the event, he is eager to collaborate with these artist to bring a new look and energy to the city he calls home.
