We welcome in the month with Turntables On The Hudson - resident spinner Nickodemus joined on Friday the 1st by the don of dub, J-Boogie. Throughout his 15-year career the San Franciscan has challenged the boundaries of the music world across genres, styles, languages and borders, speaking to listeners through a diverse musical language, integrating hip-hop, dub, soul, reggae, funk, Latin, afro-beat, dancehall, and even disco, electro and house into his sets. One of the first DJs to incorporate musicians and vocalists into a live band/DJ fusion set, J-Boogie has truly re-defined the concept of what it is to be a turntableist. With several albums, remixes and mix CDs from the club to the radio, J-Boogie’s Dubtronic Science will take you on a magical musical tour.
