ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Drum & Bass supergroup ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, hailing from Camden, north London, have built a huge reputation upon the foundation of their uniquely produced sound. The duo, comprised of Zula Warner and Glenn Herweijer, have worked tirelessly in building their signature vibe over the last decade. Their debut artist album ‘Stand Alone’ came out at the end of 2010 on legendary record label V Recordings. It was quickly nominated ‘Album Of The Year’ (all genres) in DJ Mag and iDJ: cementing its place in the Top 20 iTunes Album Chart. Their tune ‘Desperado’, held as one of the biggest DNB anthems of the last decade, and was nominated by the public as Radio 1’s ‘Number 1 Drum & Bass Tune Of The Year’ in 2006. Since then, they have had a string of number one hits on the BBC Drum & Bass charts including ‘Uprising’, ‘Bloodlines’, ‘Days Of Rage’ and ‘Three’s A Crowd’.

A.I. have had the honour of remixing the likes of Kelis, Eric Prydz, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Skepta and Goldie. Their latest dancefloor smasher, (a huge remix for Roots Manuva just completed), is already receiving massive support from the scene’s heavyweights. As well as being signed to V, their original productions have graced internationally renowned labels such as Soul:R, Metalheadz, Full Cycle, Good Looking, Commercial Suicide, CIA, Innerground, EXIT and their own imprint, Integral Records.

As live performers, A.I. have become DJs renowned for their versatile, flowing sounds and deep basslines: touring globally and featured at some of the world’s most well-known festivals and club nights. They regularly headline at FABRIC in London (their hometown), and also showcase their amazing drum and bass grooves at nights such as Hype’s Tru Playaz; Andy C’s Ram; Goldie’s Metalheadz; Marcus Intalex’s A Bunch Of Cuts, and V Recordings’ Brand New Party.

Currently the A.I. boys are back in their Camden studio producing their new album, as well as a debut compilation release coming out later this year. They are working with vocalists such as Ayah Marah, Jakes and Steo among others. Their new remix of ‘Pigeon Hole’ (feat DRS that is backed with Dillinja’s remix of the A.I. anthem ‘Uprising’ which spent 6 weeks at No.1 in Radio 1′s Drum & Bass chart), as well as a massive remix of Ayah Marah’s ‘Follow You’ on MOS, are due for release this Fall. A.I. also has two releases forthcoming on Metalheadz & Metalheadz Platinum, as well as more material in-progress for V Recordings and RAM.

With most recent releases on V and Ministry Of Sound, some big things are in the pipeline for this very talented duo! These boys are definitely ones to watch closely in current Drum & Bass times.

ANT TC1

Ant TC1 along with Hidden Agenda founded Dispatch Recordings back in 2001, Ant originally helped out with the management side of the label before finding his feet within the realms of production; which was a natural progression for him having DJ’d on pirate radio and in clubs from the age of 15 (since 1993). His first release along side frequent studio partner Stress Level appeared on Dispatch after almost 3 years of hard work getting their collective sound where they felt it needed to be in the studio before even thinking about turning on a DAT recorder. After their first release aired they quickly picked up a wealth of dj support on their early material and went on to release for a who’s who list of established Drum & Bass record labels including the likes of Renegade, CIA, Advanced, Critical Records Integral, Liquid V, Commercial Suicide, Good Looking Records, Bingo beats and Samurai Music. By demand remix work started to feature heavily within their output and the duo went on to remix for the likes of Hidden Agenda, Chris SU, Artificial Intelligence, Kabuki, Total Science, Optical & Ryme Time (Jagged Edge), Atlantic Connection, Tactile & DJ Marky.

Ant’s production output has featured on a mass of compilations and mix cd’s compiled by the likes of Shy FX, LTJ Bukem, Total Science, AI, Spectrasoul, Klute and Brian G. Additionally his work has featured very heavily within the BBC radio 1 shows of Friction, Grooverider, Fabio & Bailey on their respective slots over the years. His DJ work has seen him play all over the globe from Adelaide to Los Angeles, from Hong Kong to Budapest, Tel-Aviv to Bangkok and last but by no means least regularly UK wide.

Fast forward to 2013 and Ant is now solely responsible for the running & label manager role of Dispatch Recordings; having released a mix CD compilation, the hugely successful “Transit One” album in 2011 (which topped almost all the usual stores weekly dance music sales charts across all formats) as well as a fine list of consistently quality single and EP releases from the likes of Survival, Break, Octane & DLR , Marcus Intalex, Commix, AI, Chris SU, Zero T, Cern, Dabs, Skeptical, Dub Phizix, Spinline, himself (and many more). Ant has recently remixed material for the likes of Lomax (Loadstar), Sunchase, Cern & Dabs as well as having his own solo work remixed by rising star Xtrah and working on further collabs with the likes of Survival and DLR. Ant also continues to run his own monthly night at ‘Momentum’ in Leeds (which is headed into it’s 10th year) as well as managing the renowned Metalheadz label & it’s events worldwide (for none other than the D&B legend that is Goldie) and still continuing to dj across the globe on an ever-frequent basis.

**NYC Debut***

DJ Emma G is one of only a handful of well-respected female DJs from New Zealand. Dubbed ‘Golden Girl’ of the local D&B scene, she is the former Auckland house queen, and more recently renowned for rocking out her signature sound of upbeat, soulful Drum & Bass in clubs and on radio. Working in fashion by day, with a strong passion for promoting her love of intelligent music, it’s no doubt she has been influential in bringing back the sex appeal to such a male-dominated industry.

Growing up in a musical family, with a set of turntables at home belonging to her DJ/Producer brother, naturally led to an early discovery of an adoration for electronic music. As a teen she set her mind to mastering the art of turntablism, developing her own unique style of seamless mixing which was to soon be unleashed onto dancefloors around the globe.

Debuting on student radio BFM in 1998, she quickly began to make a name for herself on the rave scene and was scouted in 2001 for what was to become a long-time stint hosting weekly on New Zealand dance radio station George FM. She was also selected for residencies all over Auckland and became one of the hottest DJs on the party circuit. A well-respected promoter, she is also the face and signature sound of ‘Liquid Recreation’, one of the city’s most infamous monthly nights she created and toured around the country.

Performing alongside many of the industry’s most respected artists on tour down in New Zealand eventually led to an inevitable relocation to the UK, to immerse herself in the scene where the heart of Drum & Bass truly began.

Currently her new brand ‘Soulside Sessions’ – a collaboration mix series project with MC Tali which extends to a live show on very special occasions – is swiftly gaining a solid reputation worldwide. With more exciting projects on the horizon between the pair, the future is looking bright!

Emma G’s DJ sets are epitomized by heart and soul matched with magnetic bass, and a combination of lush, deep introspective rollers and uplifting dance floor smashers. She is all about creating a journey of sound and bass magic for her listeners and dancers. She swears by Soul:R, the Shogun Audio camp, the likes of Calibre, Lenzman, D Bridge, SpectraSoul Technimatic, Command Strange and Break, to name just a few. If the vibe’s alive, it’ll be on hot rotation!

Based in London for only a short time has already seen an episode of DNBTV, regular appearances in London and Europe, and her own ‘Superfine Music’ night rocking in the heart of Shoreditch, proving she’s already set and starting to make moves and grooves in the Northern Hemisphere.

Born Adam Baker, son of a musically talented father and artist mother he was destined to be a great musician. Growing up listening to David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Thomas Dolby shaped his love for music at a young age. At the age of 16 Adam first heard Drum and Bass at a rave and wanted to replicate the energy and excitement he witnessed first hand. It wasn’t until years later when he had the opportunity to express it first by DJing. At the age of 20, he bought his first set of turntables and a mixer. Quickly learning and understanding the techniques of mixing music, a year later he was given the opportunity to play out. He knew all along that he wanted to create his own music and that being a DJ wouldn’t be enough to set himself apart from rest of the world. Little did he know, that a chance meeting in a neighborhood record store would launch his career as a producer. He didn’t stop at Drum and Bass but ventured into Hip Hop, R&B, Techno, House and everything in between. He doesn’t believe in pigeonholing himself in one genre and always produces music by feeling and bpm. Currently he is working on multiple releases with Robert Manos in many different genres. Keep an eye out for him and these songs.




DAVE SHICHMAN

Representing New York City, Dave is a respected contributor to the North American Drum and Bass community. Owner of Driven AM, the premier North American DnB Artist Management, Record Label, and Production company. Events coordinator and resident DJ for various NYC parties including part of the legendary NYC production team Direct Drive and previously part of ‘Natural Selection’ in NYC. Dave has released music on Luv Disaster (solo and alongside Dave Owen) including a 6 song EP in November 2o12 called “I’m Holding Out My Hand”, Peer Pressure Recordings, Liquid Brilliants, Basswerk (alongside Sol.ID), Influenza Minus, Deeper Vision Recordings, Electronic River Recordings, and his own imprint Driven AM Recordings. His music is being supported by DJ Randall, DB, Random Movement, TC1, Raw Q, Dstar, Stunna, Mixmaster Doc, Dave Owen, Submorphics, Calculon and many others. A Dj that has performed live more than 250 times in 12 States in the US as well as in Puerto Rico and Spain in the past 12 years alongside some of the biggest names in DnB, everyone from Goldie to High Contrast. Recently Dave’s music has been heard on a Metalheadz Podcast, Bassdrive, and featured in a mix and interview with Knowledge Magazine among other places. From the World of Drum and Bass at WMC in Miami to multiple Driven AM showcases at Respect LA, Dave has brought his energetic style to to parties from coast to coast on tours in 2009 and 2011. Dave is a driven individual, whose passion for Drum and Bass shows in his music and live performance.

MC T.R.A.C.

Hailing from Brooklyn N.Y., T.R.A.C. has been very involved in many different scenes in his music career. Struck by the bug at a very young age, music has always been one of the most influential things in his life. As an MC he knows how to rock a crowd, as a lyricist he can surely put words together in a fashion, but its the art of making music where T.R.A.C. excels. Not wanting to be seen as just a rapper, he wants to be respected as a vocalist/musician and MC.

Through out his musical journey, the New York native has touched on many different genres with Hip Hop effort. On his first '2000 feature with DJ ICUE “Next Level $hit” became an underground classic on Liquid Sky Records. The fusion of the 2 styles was seen as provocative at the time. Nonetheless, The experience of this had set the stage of what was to come in the future.

As a Konkrete Jungle resident and NYC scene supporter, T.R.A.C. has been seen performing with top tier Dj's and artist abroad. From NYC junglist Dj's like Odi, Dara, Soul Slinger, and LionDub to name a few, to overseas heavies like Jumpin Jack Frost, Dego (4hero), The Upbeats, Skream and within recent times was seen rocking the mic for the re-known Roni Size and the legendary DJ LTJ Bukem.

Back on the Hip Hop side of things, TRAC does what he considers “classic style Hip Hop. In love with mostly sampled sounds, he has teamed with the likes of UK legend Lewis Parker on a couple of occasions. From 2007's Boosey n Hawks entitled “Lewis Parkers' Home Grown Hip Hop” to Lp's more recent releases such as Dangerous Adventures.

In 2009, a friend handed him a copy of an album called Visioneers. A compilation of very well orchestrated covers that were done by UK (4hero) Legend Marc Mac. Being inspired from the album , T.R.A.C. went and searched for him via the internet. After a couple of conversations a new relationship was made firing the BK MC into new grounds. The tandem are 3 projects deep with music including his well received 2011 Omniverse/BBE debut album “The Network”. Marcs amazing soundscapes topped with T.R.A.C.'s vocals have been reviewed by critics on blogsites and magazines as “addictive” and “refreshing” to Hip Hop, garnishing 6stars in a Euro magazine(Oct OE4).

With a couple of feature spots to come in the future along with another upcoming over-viewed EP in the works his catalog keeps growing with quality music. Expect to hear and see more of this talented MC throughout the year. His goal remains the same. To Rule And Conquer.
