FEATURING:
SEBA (SECRET OPERATIONS | SWEDEN)
https://www.facebook.com/sebasweden
Swedish producer Sebastian Ahrenberg has established a reputation as one of the finest purveyors of quality drum & bass over a distinguished career stretching back over 15 years. From his early tracks on LTJ Bukem’s ground-breaking label Good Looking Records to his more recent work across labels including Metalheadz, Soul:r, Hospital and his own Secret Operations Seba’s music has retained a timeless appeal and brings together beats and bass in classic yet inimitable style.
Originating from Ingaro, an island just outside Stockholm, Sebastian Ahrenberg started producing in the early 90s. Working with a basic home studio, he experimented with breakbeats and techno before finding his own unique style in drum and bass. Seba’s track ‘Sonic Winds’, written together with Lotek, was among his first drum and bass productions to be released, and was selected by label boss LTJ Bukem for his Logical Progression mix cd series. Further releases soon followed, from the sublime and soulful ‘Planetary Funk Alert’ to the rich and ethereal ‘Valley of the Moomins’, and marked Seba as one of the finest exponents of an emerging new style.
To showcase his music and bring like-minded artists to his native shores, Seba started the club night Secret Operations in 1997. From humble beginnings in a cellar bar named Tuben in central Stockholm, the club went on to a long run of successful nights. By 2003 the club had given rise to a record label with the same name. The first release 12inch single ‘Pieces/Banett’ by Seba and Lenk. Since then, the label has hosted Seba’s solo productions as well as work alongside his friend and fellow breakbeat pioneer, Paradox.
Released on Swedish label Svek, under the alias Sunday Brunch, his house productions include some of his first collaborations with long-term studio spars Jesper Dahlbäck and Robert Manos.
In late 2008 Seba released his first longplayer on Carharrt’s label Combination Records in conjunction with his own Secret Operations label. Described by Knowledge magazine as “an accomplished and timeless slice of drum & bass” (K-Mag Sept 2008), the album will no doubt stand the test of time and shows Seba at his best delivering classic sound.
Seba consider himself more of a musician than a DJ. He puts his music in focus, and uses DJ’ing as a way of presenting his own productions blended with other artists. His philosophy is that the promoters book him because they like what he does, not because he has the latest unreleased tracks in his bag. Be prepared to experience a DJ set with at least 70-80% of Seba’s finest productions.
JASON MAGIN (FUZED FUNK / BASSDRIVE / SUBSTITUTION | PHILLY)
https://www.facebook.com/jasonmagin
http://www.bassdrive.com
Jason Magin started his music career in 1997, getting picked up early on by the Substitution crew, and spending the years from 1999-2005 as Drum & Bass buyer for the legendary 611 Records in Philadelphia, USA. One of the founders of FuzedFunk, Jason Magin’s extensive record collection, ear for quality, and desire to keep the more soulful/musical side of Drum & Bass alive have always fueled his Dj sets. While rooted in soul, it has been the fusion of those sounds with other styles that have set him apart and resulted in playing major events all along the East Coast USA and internationally in Spain, Argentina, and New Zealand. Taking a flexible approach to Drum & Bass, the FuzedFunk sound is always evolving but it is the “Funk and Soul” that bring it all together. Liquid, rolling, dark, exclusives, amens, old school jungle, future classics…it’s not about fitting into a particular mold…it is always about the vibe and about the party.
The year 2012 marks a milestone of 10 years of FuzedFunk and will be celebrated by the relaunch of FuzedFunk.com as well as other special events. Be sure to listen to the FuzedFunk Sessions Live each Sunday (4-7pm EST; 9-12midnight GMT) on the undisputed heavyweight of online D&B Radio stations… the mighty Bassdrive.com.

Kalu has played alongside SEBA, PARADOX, DJ LEE, TECH ITCH, DJ INK, DOM & ROLAND, NUCLEUS, LTJ BUKEM, OUTRAGE, ROHAN and other Heavy Hitters in the Drum and Bass scene along with regularly touring with Seba and Paradox.
ADRED (NATURAL SELECTION | NY)

Born Adam Baker, son of a musically talented father and artist mother he was destined to be a great musician. Growing up listening to David Bowie, Eric Clapton and Thomas Dolby shaped his love for music at a young age. At the age of 16 Adam first heard Drum and Bass at a rave and wanted to replicate the energy and excitement he witnessed first hand. It wasn’t until years later when he had the opportunity to express it first by DJing. At the age of 20, he bought his first set of turntables and a mixer. Quickly learning and understanding the techniques of mixing music, a year later he was given the opportunity to play out. He knew all along that he wanted to create his own music and that being a DJ wouldn’t be enough to set himself apart from rest of the world. Little did he know, that a chance meeting in a neighborhood record store would launch his career as a producer. He didn’t stop at Drum and Bass but ventured into Hip Hop, R&B, Techno, House and everything in between. He doesn’t believe in being pigeonholing himself in one genre and always produces music by feeling and bpm. Currently he is working on multiple releases with Robert Manos in many different genres. Keep an eye out for him and these songs.
