The Monday Maneuver is keepin' the talent comin'! On Monday June 20th the Maneuver plays host to local stars KYU & KUL, and Thoughtless Music's DJ MAUS! We are very excited to have each of these extremely talented DJs playing alongside Maneuver residents Edgar Guerrero and Kyle Sullivan. Below, we've included brief bios for each artist along with links to recent mixes, pages, and original track releases.

KYU BIO (MASSIVE GROOVE):

Kyu’s love for music started at an early age of 8. He was classically trained in piano and violin for over 10 years. Always looking to expand his musically knowledge, he discovered EDM (Electronic Dance Music) in 1998. He started out by seeing live performances of DJs such as PVD, Steve Lawler, Sasha and Digweed, Lee Burridge, Danny Howells and Richie Hawtin. Inspired by the musicality of all these DJs and feeling he could add a unique aspect to EDM, he entered the world of the DJ. In 1999, he started his DJ career playing at Recess in NYC. In 2004, he started a weekly party called, “Ignite”, to highlight NYC local talent, where he played alongside local DJs such as Bill Patrick, Dennis Rodgers, Camea, Elon and DJ Sense, who have since then become world-class DJs.

Currently, he is part of the Massive Groove family, where he plays with the hottest American and European talents around the world.

KUL BIO:

Kul is well rounded dj starting his career as a hip-hop/pop dj while his real love for electronica started in the late 90's. His quest to become the best electronic DJ took a step closer when he captured residencies at TFC and MK Lounge in the heart of korea town in Manhattan, where he plays there every Friday and Saturdays. Kul met fellow countryman Kyu in 2010, who has been a electronic DJ for over 10 years. Kyu recognized the talent and since exposed him to the underground electronic scene and Kul has since has been a favorite afterhour DJ where he has received praise and credibility.

DJ MAUS (Thoughtless Music):

Maus was raised by Jazz and Disco music freaks. She is the queen of mashed potatoes and once dreamed to be Barry White's wife and Nina Simone's sister. Her love for music is unconditional as long as the beat’s got soul and makes your hips swing. Her flawless sets travel from Deep House to Techno with a round, yet solid groove, and a good dose of sexiness.

For the past 15 years, she's been assiduously involved in Montreal's electronic scene whether as a DJ or an event organizer. In 2004, she dedicated most of her time learning music production. Today, after a few releases, including a remix for legendary cold-wave band Trisomie 21 (Chromo Music, FR - 2004) she has two EP signed on Toronto's label, Thoughtless Music and an upcoming remix for Canadian rap band, Radio Radio. Maus held long-term residencies at Montreal clubs and afterhours such as SONA, ARIA, Unity, Blizzarts and Salon Daome. 2010 sees her take place regularly behind the decks of infamous Stereo Nightclub and Club UN. Maus has been sharing her sound to a global audience since the year 2000. Her tours include Shanghai (Expo 2010), Australia, Dominican Republic, MEG Tour 2000 (Montreal, Europe 2000), Sonar festival (Spain, 2000), Techno Parade (Paris), several events at Club Girona (Spain) and many more.
