On Saturday 29th we’re in the party mood as Cielo celebrates its 8th Anniversary. Did you know the number eight is considered particularly auspicious in Chinese culture because it sounds similar to the word for ‘prosper’ or ‘wealth’? In Mandarin it has a similar character to the infinity symbol, the interconnection between club and clubber one might say. Enough of the philosophy and preamble and back to the celebrations in hand as resident stars Nicolas Matar and Willie Graff have Desyn Masiello lined up to entice and enthrall with his particular blend of tech-etched house. Once described by John Digweed as the man that never sleeps, it is a testament to Desyn’s hard work and ability to unearth original and undiscovered threads in the tapestry of house music that his peers recognize and respect. With numerous mix CDs to his name on some of the most respected labels and brands the past decade has seen the Londoner continued to develop his trio of record labels Alternative Route, Sexonwax, and most recently, Soulglow. While his production work with friends Omid16B and Demi has seen the DJ alliance, SOS go from strength-to-strength, the creative synergy shows what’s possible when three heads are focused together on one objective.
