Francois K’s Deep Space on August 16th has not one but four guests on the bill on what looks set to be one essential evening. Joining FK is Philly house ambassador King Britt, along with Canada’s uber cool dance collective Agape featuring producer Erick Paredes and singer Nadia Harris. The former is known for his many pseudonyms including the much loved Sylk130 (remember his sublime reading of “Last Night A DJ Saved My Life”?) and Scuba (with the deep house Vikter Duplaix collaboration “Swell”), while King Britt’s latest “Intensions EP” is aimed firmly at the ambient dub market. Similarly treading a path through a diverse spectrum of sounds and life experiences, Agape brings it all together in a collaboration that blurs geographical locations and sound barriers. Elements are drawn from their cultural roots and take new forms in the hands of DJ/producer Erick Paredes and Jamaican singer Nadia Harris. A unique voice that perfectly compliments the sound developed by Erick and his brother Patrick Paredes. “She Really Likes It”, the organically delicious and roots single is out now and featured on their new “EP1” available through Sustainable Recordings.
