On Thursday 29th Cielo welcomes tech-house hero Steve Bug. Germany’s very own tastemaker, trendsetter, mover ‘n’ shaker extraordinaire, is a multi-faceted artist who refuses to back down from the limelight. A dedicated, energetic and constantly surprising talent, Steve is nothing less than an electronic music ambassador, and a much-loved spokesman to the people, and for good reason. In 1999 he launched Poker Flat Records, that’s still running today, with Bug a self-anointed figurehead for the hugely popular ‘minimal-tech-house sound’ that the label pioneered. His first album for Poker Flat, The Other Day, stands as a testament to this futuristic, melting pot of sounds and ideas, where musical diversity and experimentation meet soothing nighttime dubs and dancefloor workouts. Sister labels Dessous (catering for more classic deep-house sounds fused with cutting edge production) and Audiomatique (modern house and techno) have further cemented his standing within the techno world and amongst his peers as a true pioneer.
